Three medals for two urban beekeepers at the AGRA international fair of agriculture and food

Between 20th and 25th August 2022 the jubilee, 60th International Agricultural and Food Fair AGRA takes place in Gornja Radgona; the most important event of its kind in Slovenia. This year marks the twenty-first iteration of the assesment of honey with international participation. The awards were given out on Sunday, 21st of August.

Three medals from 60th AGRA for two urban beekeepers!

This year, two members of Urban Beekeepers' Association of Slovenia sent their honey samples for assessment: they were all extracted from the hives within our capital city, Ljubljana. Franc Petrovčič received bronze medal for the honey from the A1 company headquaters rooftop in the BTC City Ljubljana and silver medal for the floral honey, extracted from the same area (close to the Atlantis Waterpark).

It shall be mentioned that Mr. Franc Petrovčič, one of the pioneers of the contemporary urban beekeeping in Slovenia and vice president of the Urban Beekeepers' Association received several top prizes in the past for the honey from his city locations.

Congrats to Mr. Petrovčič for his medals!

Gorazd Trušnovec has received silver medal for the forest honey, extracted in the summer of 2022 from the beehives, located on the rooftop terrace of Petrol d.d. headquaters building in Ljubljana.

The awards and the accompanying analyses prove once again that Ljubljana's urban honey can compete with any other in terms of quality! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters of the Association's activities and of urban beekeeping in general.

We're absolutely delighted with the awards - and with this season's Ljubljana urban honey as well, of course!
